We talk to Philly-based comedian, Gabi Swain!

Jason talks with comedian and improviser Gabi Swain about her path from Michigan to Pennsylvania (not the other way around), living in Philly, and how a political-science and campaign career (including work in DC) left her burnt out and led her to discover improv. After seeing an all-day improv festival at the Harrisburg Improv Theater, she became deeply involved, eventually co-founding the indie Swear Jar Jamboree comedy festival. Gabi explains the festival’s purposeful community-building approach, its produced show blocks mixing improv, sketch, standup, clown, character, and more. They also discuss improv warmups, long-form styles (including Harold and Spokane), Gabi’s D&D projects like Tiny Tabletop and “15-minute D&D,” and more more fun stuff!

Really enjoyed going through this, it had a fresh perspective and kept me engaged throughout. I recently came across slope 3 which highlights endless runner mechanics and reflex challenge in a very smooth arcade gameplay format.
